Oysters
The oyster (from the Ostreoidea family) is a salt-water mollusk with a rock-hard, irregularly shaped shell encasing a fleshy, slimy, plump body. With their delicate, toothy texture, umami flavor and briny liquid, folks love to consume them cooked or raw as a delicacy. Our Oysterzinc is the extract of fresh oysters, produced on the lush coastlines of Ireland under a proprietary process that preserves bioactivity and purity. Thanks to oysters’ abundant nutrients, zinc is bound in peptides and amino acids with essential cofactors, for fantastic bioavailability. These nutrients include naturally-occurring vitamin B12, iodine, selenium and copper.*
Vegetarian capsule
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), water. Our vegetable (vegan) capsules consist of HPMC and purified water. HPMC is derived from vegetable cellulose of either pine or poplar. These capsules contain no preservatives, no gelatin, wheat, animal by-products or starch.

FAQ
What makes Oysterzinc different than commercially available zinc supplements?
Oysterzinc is a natural shellfish food. All of its nutrients are organic in origin, making them 100% bioavailable. The trace elements in Oysterzinc are bound to transport molecules (peptides, amino acids), allowing the body to soak up all of the oysters' zinc and other nutrients.* The high concentration of free amino acids and peptides are also directly available to the blood once consumed, making them fast-acting.
On the other hand, mineral supplements in an isolated form need to bind to transport molecules during digestion before they can be absorbed, which may affect their bioavailability. It can also upset the body's natural mineral and nutrient balance, as zinc supplements in an isolated form do not include the mineral's inherent nutritional cofactors. For example, the body's important copper reserve can become depleted if zinc is taken on its own.
All of the trace elements in Oysterzinc are present in significant, yet balanced concentrations, ensuring they work harmoniously as nature intended. This means they will support your body's natural mineral and nutrient balance because you're consuming the mineral as a real food.
Is Oysterzinc organic?
We harvest the oysters that comprise your Oysterzinc from the pristine Atlantic waters along Ireland's lush coastline. In turn, all of its nutrients are organic in origin, though the product is not certified organic.
Is this product safe for pregnant women?
Pregnancy dramatically increases nutritional demands for expectant mothers. RDAs (recommended daily allowances) for many nutrients increase during this time and also during lactation. For example, the RDA for zinc increases from 8 mg to 12 mg daily during pregnancy and lactation. Oysterzinc may help meet those increased nutritional demands as it contains the nutrients and cofactors necessary to support growth and development.* Please note it is not appropriate for those with fish or iodine allergies.
What foods contain zinc?
Here are some foods that are high in zinc:
