We wanted to create this product so our customers can get their vitamin E naturally, as wheat germ contains the highest amount of the vitamin out of any other food. And one of our key beliefs is to obtain our vitamins from real food rather than processed supplements.
Our Wheat Germ Oil is different in that most supplemental vitamin E is derived from soy and semi-synthetic (more on the issues of taking synthetic vitamin E below). When browsing for vitamin E supplements, you will likely hear the term tocopherols, which are a group of fat-soluble phenolic compounds that comprise the major forms of vitamin E.
We only use pure wheat germ oil, made from the freshest non-GMO North American wheat. It’s gently extracted with low heat to retain as much of its natural nutrients as possible, which also include omega-3 fatty acids, phytosterols (plant-based molecules related to cholesterol) and octacosanol (a fatty alcohol found in plant waxes).*

If you’ve never heard of it, wheat germ is the embryo of the wheat plant; it contains the highest amount of nutrients in the entire wheat kernel.

As noted above, the form of vitamin E found in wheat germ oil is known as tocopherol, which acts as an antioxidant. Antioxidants are compounds that help protect the body from free radicals, which are harmful substances that can damage cells, build up and lead to chronic health issues over time.*
Aside from the vitamin E, many of our customers appreciate wheat germ oil because it promotes regularity due to its natural fiber content.*
So, what’s the issue with synthetic vitamin E?
First, let’s lay out the difference. There are two different types of vitamin E called isomers. Isomers are molecules with the same chemical formula but different chemical structures. The synthetic isomer of vitamin E is called Dl-alpha-tocopherol acetate, and it’s a byproduct of petrochemical dependent manufacturing.*
There are several issues with synthetic vitamins and synthetic vitamin E. To start, they’re less effective and bioavailable than the natural forms you can get from food.* Further, the synthetic form of vitamin E can cause health issues in other parts of the body.*
The natural source of vitamin E is called D-alpha-tocopherol and is in wheat germ, seeds, nuts, spinach and many other whole foods.
Here’s why Morley Robbins, founder of the Root Cause Protocol, includes whole food vitamin E as an essential component of his natural health regimen:
“... vitamin E has nine parts. There's four tocopherols: alpha, beta, gamma, delta. So alpha tocopherol is on the outer shell of it. Then there's four what are called tocotrienes, but the important thing is there's selenium in the core of whole food vitamin E. Where I became aware of the importance of vitamin E was reading a study, but it was a study comparing the antioxidant properties of whole food vitamin E compared to three chemotherapy agents. But what's chemotherapy? What are they doing? They're trying to kill the oxidants, that's really what it's trying to do because a lot of oxidative stress with cancer, and they actually had to stop the study when they realized that the wholefood vitamin E was outperforming the three chemotherapy agents combined.* So it was a very dramatic statement of the power of Mother Nature to deal with the oxidative stress caused by iron, and so it's a very powerful nutrient that is not readily available because people don't know about the difference between alpha tocopherol and vitamin E, but there are very good forms of it, you know, wheat germ oil is a good form...”
