For Giving Tuesday, we support Buckets of Rain urban gardening in Detroit 💜

Buckets of Rain volunteers

In honor of Giving Tuesday’s global movement that encourages people to do good in the world, we’re again donating 5% of sales to Buckets of Rain. Plus, you can enjoy free shipping with your orders. 😊

Buckets of Rain is a nonprofit urban gardening project in Detroit and Highland Park working to end food insecurity with fresh, locally-grown produce.

Since 2012, the rapidly expanding efforts of Buckets of Rain volunteers have yielded nearly a million free servings of locally grown vegetables free of charge to shelters, food banks and neighbors. 🍅🍆🌽🥦 The vast majority of their bounty is grown in raised beds made from recycled wooden pallets and auto parts bins donated by General Motors and Ford. To date, Buckets of Rain has converted 30 abandoned, blighted city lots into food-producing community gardens.

Buckets of Rain is now transitioning its innovations and food growing capacity to other gardening operators in the Detroit community to continue its efforts long-term. They’ve moved their famous Big Glen Garden (800 raised beds) to four different local nonprofits so they can carry on their mission with more boots on the ground and a presence in the neighborhoods 365 days a year — that will take Buckets of Rain to new levels in their own unique ways. Here’s more information on the new partners.

We’re incredibly inspired by this work and thrilled to lend our support to Buckets of Rain and the organizations they’re now partnering with, especially since we're a metro Detroit-based company that fully believes in the incredible impact of fresh food.

Even if you can’t make a purchase today, we hope you’ll consider giving back in another way. Options are donating to an organization you’re passionate about, signing up to volunteer, or lending a hand to a neighbor. 💜

We thank you for your support and wish you a beautiful Giving Tuesday!
