This digestive enzyme is found in our mouths, and starts the process of chemical digestion. It also helps break down sugar into fructose and glucose.*
A digestive enzyme found in the small intestine of humans and other mammals. It's essential to the complete digestion of whole milk, as it breaks down lactose, a sugar which gives milk its sweetness.*
This digestive enzyme is present in saliva and pancreatic juice, yeasts, bacteria and plants. It helps break down maltose and similar sugars to form glucose.* Maltose develops in many starchy vegetables like sweet potatoes, nuts and legumes when they're digested or cooked.
The digestive enzyme alpha-galactosidase is naturally found in green coffee beans, and several other plants and mammals, including humans. It's been shown to reduce gas production following a meal rich in fermentable carbs by breaking down the sugar-fat complexes commonly found in hard-to-digest foods like broccoli, cabbage, peanuts and beans.* And it may be helpful in patients with gas-related symptoms.*
Beta-Glucanase is a group of carbohydrate enzymes which breaks down bonds within beta-glucan, found in heavy grains like oats, barley and rye as well in fungi like candida.*
This digestive enzyme is a key to bone health.* Commonly found in plant material, it helps break down grains, legumes, seeds and corn.

One of the few digestive enzymes found in the pancreas and the stomach that helps with the breakdown of proteins like gluten and casein, rich in the amino acid, proline.* They also play a vital role in blood clotting and cell division.*
This digestive enzyme — produced in the pancreas, mouth and stomach — helps break down dietary fats so the intestines easily absorb them. It also allows nutrients and waste to move through cellular walls.*

I am a mother of 2, a 14yr old and a 9yr old. After having my children i have ALWAYS had bowel issues. I know for a fact for the last 9 years my bowels have always been inconsistent and I’d go as far to say for a quite a few of those years i was going once a week. I took a probiotic as a part of my supplement intake but never experienced consistency. I’d take a fiber supplement as recommend by doc but it all never worked. About a year ago i was on an Instagram account i follow and she was posting about how it may be beneficial to take a digestive enzyme instead of a probiotic and recommended Smidge. So i tried it. And it has been life changing. It took a little bit to get regulated but for the first time in YEARS, i am having bowel movements every single day and sometimes twice a day. I know this might sound TMI but i am sure there are other people and especially mammas who have this issue. I 100% recommend.SSmidge®6 months agoThank you for sharing this wonderful story with us!! I tried a few enzymes when I became intolerant to the brand I have used for years. No doubt the fillers they use. Smidge was the only brand that seem to work for me thus far. The only drawback is the price per bottle. I got 180 capsules for the same price with my old brand and only had to take 1 per meal. I have to take 2 per meal with yours. But I will pay it until I find a less expensive brand I can tolerate.SSmidge®7 months agoWe are so glad to hear you are receiving some relief with the Smidge Digestive Enzymes. - JBJanet B.Verified BuyerReviewingDigestive EnzymesI recommend this productRated 5 out of 5 stars1 year agoBeing careful in starting
You suggested starting slowly, so I began with one every 5 days, then progressed to 3 days and now every two days. So far I am tolerating the pills well and have not had any side effects. I developed an allergic reaction to the last brand of digestive enzymes that I tried, so am being extremely cautious. Happily, your brand is working well for me.SSmidge®1 year agoWhat a wonderful review! We are happy you're seeing success with our Digestive Enzymes! Thank you for sharing with us today :)
